…Praises VP’s loyalty
President Bola Tinubu has celebrated Vice-President Kashim Shettima on the occasion of his 59th birthday, describing him as a loyal partner in the task of building a more prosperous Nigeria.

In a personal statement, Tinubu reaffirmed his confidence in Shettima, adding that he made no mistake in selecting him as his deputy.
The President, in the goodwill message shared by his aide, Bayo Onanuga, on X on Monday, said the day provided a ‘unique opportunity’ to honour Shettima, whom he referred to as his brother, partner, and dependable deputy.
The President hailed his vice for his dedication and performance since they began their partnership in office on May 29, 2023.
Tinubu highlighted Shettima’s courage, tenacity, and unwavering belief in Nigeria’s greatness, noting that his track record in governance exemplifies service above privilege.
“You served the people of Borno, your home state, excellently as Governor for eight years, and later as Senator representing Borno-Central. In both roles, you showed that leadership is service, not privilege, even in the face of immense challenges”, the statement partly read.
The President further applauded Shettima’s passion for democracy, good governance, and economic development, noting that his vibrancy, loyalty, and support as Vice President had strengthened the administration’s resolve to deliver on its ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda.
Reflecting on their joint achievements, the President pointed to strides made in food security, investment reforms, and international partnerships, saying Shettima’s input had been critical.
He expressed confidence that their collaboration would continue to yield tangible results as government policies deliver more schools, hospitals, jobs, and trade opportunities for Nigerians.
The President prayed for renewed vitality, wisdom, and more years of impactful service for Shettima, while extending warm birthday wishes.
